Thank you and thanks for visiting. I'm hoping my dreams are just job related (meaning I just hate my job) as when I was in the military, I often had disturbing dreams. They all went away when I got out. -Shavonne

Your hair is beautiful. I keep having the same occuring dream of something horrific happening like what you described. It feels so real. I can not shake it. I went to search on the internet and there is a woman named Ruth Montgomery who has made predictions of this nature. But she also says that people will come together afterwards. Check out the shift movie on google. You are not crazy and neither am i.

YES! i agree with you! i have curly hair as well and i am looking at sisterlocks as an alternative. My hair only looks nice when its short and curly and i don't want that. I've done it and it was cool but if i ever want to go back to that and all the product and tucking and pulling and checking to make sure i don't look wild and my hair isn't dry and falling apart...basically i'm tired too. i've been looking for someone that i could relate to in this new sisterlocks experience. i'm not sure if you have gotten them yet, i haven't but i am going all natural and its been 5 months since my last dose of creamy crack! lol! Good luck with your journey.

Thanks for visiting. Congrats on being crack free for 5 months. My last hit was back in 2001 so I'm completely relaxer free. I haven't gotten Sisterlocks yet. I don't have the time right now to interview consultants because of school. I'm hoping to start the process sometime next year. -Shavonne

A rasta chick? lol, that's crazy...SLs are far from the Bob Marley look. I bet if you got them she wouldn't even think they were locks if you told her they were braids, lol

How your hair feels does depend on your hair texture, and this was one of the last questions I had to have answered before getting SLs too. I know someone who has traditional locks and I touched her hair...it scared me to death! It was sooo hard...hard like a brillo pad mixed with concrete...not cute!

My consultant told me traditional locks have this problem because of the products used (gels, beeswax, etc.) to lock the hair that never really escape the lock even after shampooing (another benefit of having SLs maintained with a tool!). She also said that has to do with hair texture and lack of conditioning.

Now after having SLs (even though they are far from mature...) my hair is NOT hard. I know it will get denser as it locks but using good shampoo and conditioner will combat the hard problem even if you have type 4b/c kinky hair.

I've had some pretty good instructors. I will admit, that I don't like having instructors who are single or child-free (a blog post about that later) because they grade harder. Too much damn free time!! LOL.

MOST of my team members have SUCKED. I had one guy who told us he had ONE hour of computer usage a day. ONE hour. I told him he should not be in an online program. Because one hour on DIAL-UP, no less, is like 6 minutes using high speed.

And I have had a lot of team members who are already certified teachers. They scare the hell out of me. These people who can't construct a sentence or use Word or PowerPoint correctly are teaching people's children?? A true case for homeschooling.

My mentor's sister is a UoPh instructor. She is pretty good. She's in Education.

I have felt your frustration before. I have had major issue with the administrators at UoPh because my advisers have SUCKED in the past. They didn't tell me in a timely fashion when I needed to do things - like take certification exams - so that I wasn't scrambling at the last minute.

Because of that, there was a time I thought about transferring, but it was too much hassle, and I already had 30 out of 33 hours completed.

I'm glad it's almost over though. If I go for a doctorate, it won't be through them. I will follow a more traditional route for that.
